My interest in art and art collecting began in my early teens, when much to the bemusement of my family while on holiday in Canada, I spent all my holiday money on a hand carved decoy duck. (Considered a collector’s piece now – see Financial Times 3rd September 2016.)  My collecting continued apace, while pursuing a career in global growth strategies for international corporates such as BHP Billiton, Freeport Mcmoran Inc. As my collection grew, I became more and more immersed in the art world. So that I finally decided to give up my corporate life in order to follow my passion for art and take a more serious studied approach.

I completed a postgraduate diploma with distinction in Asian art at London University, which facilitated handling priceless artworks on site at London museums including the Victoria &Albert and the British Museum. And recently a course of study at the same institutes on African art.

After my Asian art diploma, I was taken on by Gonkar Gyastso. DSC_0203Working with him in promoting and selling his art. He is now renowned in the contemporary art world and represented globally. I was also instrumental in organising the first  Contemporary Tibetan art exhibition in London. This led to a role in business development at a premier London gallery, Rossi & Rossi. I became involved with various international art organisations such as Diversity Art Forum . I am also a trustee of an arts charity Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre, establishing a contemporary art centre in Nepal.

Mauro & Me So what started as informal advice to friends and acquaintances has grown into an art consultancy, using my own knowledge and experience as well as engaging experts in their field to enrich the understanding of all those interested in the wonderful world of art.
